Transport4's foundation rests on providing an environment in which companies
can transact business in a secure manner.
|
 |
Transport4's network equipment is hosted in a highly secure, top tier data center
in Chicago, Illinois where system conditions are continually monitored. In order
to provide nearly uninterrupted service during emergencies, Transport4 also has
a fully mirrored backup hosted in a highly secure remote data center.
Transport4
also employs multiple firewalls to protect against intruders and the latest industry-standard
Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol and other special software and encryption for
data transfers.
Transport4's hierarchical data security model ensures that both
carrier data and carrier customer data are protected from unauthorized access. The
security model is based on the following business rules:
- Company access to transactions are restricted to those for which that company is
a party
- Carriers are also required to grant access to authorized carrier employees
- Carrier customer companies are required to grant access to authorized company individuals
- Defined user types (accounting, terminal, scheduler, etc.) further restrict account
to types of transactions (nomination, schedules, tickets, etc.)
Each carrier and carrier customer company must designate a Company or Carrier Administrator. These administrators are responsible for granting access to the Transport4 system and to transaction data.
